The Rime Center’s Statement about the Coronavirus

The health and safety of our community is the Rime Center’s highest priority. COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to spread throughout the country and it is important for us to share how we can impede its impact. We are closely monitoring guidance from the Jackson County, MO and Johnson County, KS Dept of Health and local health officials. We will continue to rely on their recommendations and expertise to inform our decisions. Rime Membership Class

Interested in becoming an official member of the Rime Center? Beginning February 23rd join us at 9:30 am for the Rime Center’s Membership class. Upon completion of the class, students are inducted as new members of the Rime Center sangha and are given a mala personally blessed by H.H. Dalai Lama. Read more…

Fundraising Goal was a Success

Thank You for Helping the Rime Center in Meeting its Goal of Raising Money for the New Temple.

Thanks to your generosity the Rime Center met its goal in raising $80,000 toward the down payment on the construction loan for the new temple. Your support allows us to open the doors of loving-kindness and achieving peace through compassion. We have raised $100,000 to date.

Basics of Buddhism

Have you always wanted to understand Buddhism? Buddhism is a 2,500 year old tradition that teaches us how to end pain and suffering in ourselves and others. February 12th at 7 pm the Rime Center will be holding an 8 week course that will cover meditation instruction, life of the Buddha, basic Buddhist teachings, as well as practical application of these principles in daily life. Rime Adopt-A-Family for the Holidays

This year the Rime Buddhist Center is adopting a very needy Rime family to make their holiday season a bit brighter. Please bring wrapped gifts marked with the following.

  • Boy #1 (12 year old): size 12 or 14 pants, large shirt. He would like video games for Nintendo switch. Also gift cards as well.
  • Boy #2 (5 year old): size 5 T. Any toys that are age appropriate. Also gift cards as well.
  • Mom: Would be happy with help with food for a holiday meal as well as gift cards.

Gift need to be dropped off at the Rime Center by Dec 22nd at noon. Please help us make this important program successful – helping another person is the source of true happiness.
