The Rime Center offers a Zen style retreat once every quarter. The practice will consist of Zazen, seated meditation, Kinhin, walking meditation, chanting and Samu, or mindful work. We will follow the practice taught by visiting teacher, Karen Maezen Miller, with a brief instruction at the beginning of the meditation. This event will be in-person and online.
Register in advance for this meeting
Schedule:
9 am – 9:15 am – Morning service (chanting)
9:15 am – 9:45 am – Zazen (seated meditation)
9:45 am – 10 am – Kinhin (walking meditation)
10 am – 11:15 am – Alternating seated-walking in periods of 20 or 30 minutes seated and 10-15 minutes walking
11:15 am – 12 pm – Samu (mindful work) and do general cleaning around the temple.
