We are pleased to share a significant milestone in the history of the Rimé Buddhist Center. Our offer to purchase the property located at 2015 NW 50th Street in Northmoor, Missouri, has been accepted.
After years of growth and careful consideration, this opportunity provides a path toward a facility that better supports our mission of teaching, practicing, and sharing the Dharma throughout the Kansas City community.
The new building offers several important advantages. A spacious shrine room will allow our entire sangha to gather together for teachings, meditation, and special events. The single-floor layout will improve accessibility for practitioners of all ages and abilities, while a large private parking lot will provide convenient off-street parking for members and visitors.
Beyond meeting our current needs, the additional space will allow us to expand our service to the community. We look forward to restarting our Dharma School for children and youth, strengthening our homeless outreach efforts, and creating additional opportunities for classes, retreats, volunteer activities, and community events.
The property has been extensively renovated and includes flexible meeting spaces, classrooms, storage areas, and living quarters that can support future growth and visiting teachers.
To make this transition possible, the Rimé Buddhist Center will be selling the Rimé Sangha House and surrounding property. Our goal is to complete the sale of our current property and close on the Northmoor building in September.
This is more than a building project. It is an investment in the future of the Dharma in Kansas City and a testament to the generosity, dedication, and vision of our sangha. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped bring us to this moment and look forward to sharing updates as we move through the next stages of the process.
May this new home benefit countless beings for generations to come.
