What if the teachings of the Buddha weren’t something distant or abstract—but a practical guide for navigating your own life, here and now?
The Basics of Buddhism course is a welcoming, step-by-step introduction to the heart of the Buddhist path, designed for anyone curious about meditation, mindfulness, or the deeper questions of life. Whether you’re completely new or looking to reconnect with foundational teachings, this 10-week journey offers a supportive space to explore, reflect, and grow.
Each week, we’ll explore essential teachings such as the life of the Buddha, the Three Jewels, the Four Noble Truths, karma, and meditation—always grounding these timeless insights in real, lived experience. Through guided discussions, reflective journaling, and meditation practice, you won’t just learn about Buddhism—you’ll begin to experience it for yourself.
This course is not about adopting new beliefs. It’s about asking meaningful questions:
- What is suffering, and how does it show up in my life?
- What truly brings lasting peace and fulfillment?
- How can I respond to life with greater clarity, compassion, and presence?
Together, we create a warm, non-judgmental learning environment where curiosity is encouraged and every perspective is welcome. Each session includes practical tools you can immediately apply—whether it’s a simple breathing practice, a new way of relating to difficult emotions, or insights that shift how you see yourself and the world.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a clear understanding of the core teachings of Buddhism, a foundation in meditation, and a personalized path for continuing your practice beyond the class.
