From Lama Chuck: Mary and I have visited Nepal and have several Tibetan refugee friends who live both in Pokhara, and in Katmandhu Nepal. We are so grateful to receive word that they are safe. Of course we can offer our prayers and intentions to alleviate the widespread suffering. But we can also contribute financially. Even a little money will go a long way. There are many NGOs relief organizations so it is difficult knowing which one’s to donate money to. There are several very wonderful private NGO non-profits I recommend: Global Action Nepal is excellent, and our own local “Heart to Heart International“ is already sending medical supplies and teams of medical personnel to Nepal. They will also accept volunteers, but you must pay your own way. But there is one NGO: International Medical Corps where your money will go the farthest. They have teamed up with FaceBook, who will match dollar for dollar all donations up to two million dollars!
