Tsalung trulkor is a practice that works intensively with our subtle body. By combining special breath retention techniques with physical movements and visualizations, we move our wind-energy throughout the body, allowing it to reach deep places and open more and more subtle channels.  It is said that tsalung trulkor is a wonderful daily practice,
especially to control and handle the stress of our modern life in society. It has the power to balance the energies of mind and body, and it also helps enormously to support one’s meditation practices.

Mahayana Sutra Studies – Diamond Sutra

Around one hundred Mahayana sutras survive in Sanskrit or Tibetan translations. Mahayana sutras are passed down as the legacy of Gautama Buddha: early versions were not written documents but orally preserved teachings said to be verses that were committed to memory and recited by his disciples, in particular Ananda, which were viewed as a substitute for the actual speech of the Buddha following his death. This course will focus primarily on the Vajracchedikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra better known as the Diamond Sutra. Continue reading

Have you wondered about how to set up a shrine or what is the proper etiquette for the shrine room and visiting teachers. This course will provide guidance and give examples of shrines both for public and private spaces. The student will also be given rules of etiquette to follow while in the shrine room. March 10 Placard-08The Rime Buddhist Center will gather at the JC Nichols Fountain on the Plaza to observe Tibetan Uprising Day on Tuesday, March 10, 2016.The Tibetan Uprising Day is marked every year in memory of the 1959 Tibetan uprising against the ruling of China in Tibet. The armed rebellion resulted in a violent crackdown on Tibetan independence movements and consequently led to the Dalai Lama’s flee into exile. Continue reading
