Together we will tackle questions like: “How can we better manage our destructive emotions…? How can we widen the circle of people for whom we feel genuine compassion? What makes anger constructive? Why should we react differently to the person who upsets us than to the upsetting act…?” Join us in this exploration of the human heart. Continue reading

An Invitation To Our Special Event on Dec. 31st
Dear Rime Members and Friends:
For the past 20 years it has been my pleasure to serve as both spiritual and executive directors of the Rime Buddhist Center. As many of you know I will be retiring at the end of this year.

The event is the 30th annual “Meditation for World Peace.” This amazing interfaith event will feature prayers of peace by each of the 15 different faith traditions represented on the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council. A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Bodhisattva Award. The Bodhisattva Award is presented to those who work for the benefit of others. State greetings will be given by The Honorable Dr. Charles B. Wheeler, former Missouri State Senator. Former Mayor Pro Tem Alvin Brooks will give community greetings. This year’s event is endorsed and co-sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee – Kansas City Program and the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council.
