It’s that time of year again, when we reach out and invite you to join our annual Holiday Cards for Buddhist Inmates program.
We’ve made it simple this year – we’re providing packets with cards. All we need you to do is purchase some postage stamps, write a heartfelt message, and send the cards on their way. It’s a small act, but it brings immense joy and connection to our Buddhist inmates during the holiday season.
If you’d like to participate, please visit us at the Rime’s Sunday Service on December 15th to pick up your card packet.
The Rime Buddhist Center is hosting its 39th Annual World Peace Meditation, an interfaith gathering, on December 31 at 6:00 a.m. at St. Marks Hope and Peace Lutheran Church. The event will feature religious observances from various cultures and a prayer for peace from members of the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council. The Bodhisattva Award will be presented to Metro Organization for Racial and Economic Equity (MORE2), and the keynote address will be given by Judy Ancel, a labor educator and advocate for immigrant rights.
The event will be in-person at St. Marks Hope and Peace Lutheran Church. This event is free and open to everyone. Continue reading →
Join us at the Rime Buddhist Center for our 108 Day Bodhisattva Challenge! This event is a unique opportunity to deepen your practice and cultivate compassion. Over the course of 108 days, we will explore how through Dzogchen our everyday lives can be turned into spiritual practice—not only to ease our stress, but to allow the true nature of our mind to reveal itself, right now, on the spot. Whether you’re new to Buddhism or have been practicing for years, this challenge is open to all. Come together with like-minded individuals and commit to making a positive impact in the world. Don’t miss out on this transformative experience! Continue reading →
