Purifying the Body, Speech and Mind with Younge Khachab Rinpoche
Guided Mindfulness Meditation with Lama Aria Drolma
The Rime Center offers a Zen style retreat once every quarter. The practice will consist of Zazen, seated meditation, Kinhin, walking meditation, chanting and Samu, or mindful work. We will follow the practice taught by visiting teacher, Karen Maezen Miller, with a brief instruction at the beginning of the meditation.
Schedule:
9 am – 9:15 am – Morning service (chanting)
9:15 am – 9:45 am – Zazen (seated meditation)
9:45 am – 10 am – Kinhin (walking meditation)
10 am – 11:15 am – Alternating seated-walking in periods of 20 or 30 minutes seated and 10-15 minutes walking
11:15 am – 12 pm – Samu (mindful work) and do general cleaning around the temple.
Date & Time: First Saturday of February, May, August and November, 9:00 a.m. – noon

Our monthly half-day retreat is offered on the first Saturday of each month. The focus will be upon shamatha meditation and it is a wonderful way to deepen your practice. The retreats will focus on releasing ego clinging and training the mind in compassion through shamatha meditation. Beginners are encouraged to attend, but must first have received meditation instruction. We will be observing noble silence throughout the retreat. Tea and bottled water will be provided.

Prerequisite: Must have receive prior meditation instruction. No meditation instruction is given at the retreat.
