Rime’s Efforts To Get Guns Off The Streets

This Friday, May 15th at 11:00 a.m.

You are invited to attend a press conference this Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Ad Hoc Group Against Crime headquarters located at 3116 Prospect Ave, Kansas City, MO  I will be delivering a cache of weapons (hand guns and rifles)  to the KCMO Police Dept. for destruction thus keeping them off the streets of our city.  I came into possession of these weapons through an anonymous donor. It is my belief the best place for these weapons is to make sure they stay off the streets and thus eliminate any possibility of them harming other beings.

Healing Through Shamatha Meditation and Vajrapani

Venerable Phakyab Rinpoche

May 29 – 31, 2015

No Set Fee – Pay Whatever You Can Afford

Venerable Phakyab RinpocheMark your calendars for a wonderful teaching by the acclaimed Tibetan Buddhist lama and healer, Ven. Phakyab Rinpoche. Register to attend his teachings on Healing through Shamatha Meditation. Shamatha meditation is a simple practice great for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Shamatha means “calm abiding” in Sanskrit, and this meditation focuses on allowing the mind’s natural state to be accessed by focusing the breath on a specific object and letting all other thought slip away. As the meditation practice deepens, the space between thoughts becomes greater and more profound, making room for our true inner nature of unconditional love, peace, and healing to arise and expand. Dr. Allan and Mrs. Rita Crandell’s Trip to Bhutan

We are so fortunate to have Dr. Allan Crandell and his wife Rita share with us their photos and journey to Bhutan. They went to Bhutan under the auspices of Health Volunteers Overseas, a volunteer medical project linking Western clinicians and physicians with Bhutan, generally connected with the Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referral Hospital in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Besides seeing and treating patients, they also hiked on weekends and most hikes end up on top of a hill at a Buddhist monastery or nunnery. They had the good fortune to be able to travel to the eastern, more rural part of Bhutan, graced by sightings of the rare and endangered black-necked cranes. They visited the Haa Valley, mountain passes where the Eastern Himalayas are stunningly in view and Punakha, which is a verdant, warm valley with oranges, mangoes and poinsettias in profusion. They will share photos and discuss their trip.

Date: Sunday, May 10th
Time: Dharma Talk during Sunday service
